Organizations such as the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, OSHA, and labor unions recognize and in certain circumstances require the existence of these committees. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania provides a 5% workers’ compensation discount to those employers who meet their qualifications for being a certified safety committee.
