Supplemental Safety and Health Staffing

We frequently receive requests from clients to provide them with safety and health professionals
on a short term, long-term or part-time basis depending on the goals of the client verses their
available internal resources and budget. In some cases, we find that what started as a full-time
managed outsource position can be reduced to a part-time position because of the proactive
approach of our program.

Addressing the health and safety issues for a client, whether it is a construction site or an office
building, involves more than just having an individual filling a position. Typically, an
inexperienced or unqualified person will not be able to identify challenging problems that could
affect outcomes, or provide feasible recommendations for controlling or addressing the health
and safety issues. As such, highly qualified safety and health professionals are what is needed for
a sustainable safety and health program.

Our clients have told us that the value added outsourcing provided by1Source Safety and Health
makes sense because of the following:

  1. No costs associated with training and retraining of in-house staff
  2. No need to qualify competency regarding safety and IH needs
  3. High level of proficiency with equipment
  4. No management time requirements clients
  5. Data collected, analyzed and interpreted by a third party has a higher level of validity
with unions and non-union employees, and regulatory agencies
  6. Availability of experts and equipment is guaranteed 24/7/365
  7. Our team of 9 CIH’s, CSP, CPEA, CSPHP and a CPE, plus our staff of safety and health
professionals is available to provide technical and situational knowledge base for all
    safety teams.
  8. Ability to develop and implement safety and health programs within shorter timelines
  9. Ability to evaluate employee activities to develop sampling plans that provide
    meaningful data
  10. No need to purchase, maintain, and calibrate equipment, or train staff in the appropriate
    use of equipment
  11. Peer review of data and collaboration with experienced consultants
  12. Discount on chemical and microbiological sample analysis because 1Source is a major
vendor to laboratories where samples are analyzed
  13. Ability to assess situations and confer with experts.
